419s, scammers and stupid people

Somehow, when I'm online (with Yahoo! Messenger primarily) I attract more than the average number of unusual conversations. A number of them start our sounding reasonably sane, but the other party soon start asking for unusual things, and generally incurring my own unique form of engagement.

Presumed Nigerian

I probably get a large number of 419 type emails. I don't notice because they end up in my spam-bucket and whilst they don't get deleted, they also don't get much attention either.

Somehow I've managed to attract scammers from the low end of the scale that seem to operate using Yahoo! Messenger. It usually starts out with a hello, and soon moves onto a request for funds so they can return to school.

These are a lot more fun as a rule. Interacting with large Nigerian men pretending to be young African females leads to a number of unpredictable scenarios.

Sexbots

The most basic form of engagement, these are amusing once or twice but quickly become repetitive and uninspiring. This is mostly due to being able to anticipate the responses from them and there being no mental sword-fighting with my opponent.
